At this year’s NCASLA conference in Sunset Beach, CLH’s Alice Reese made a presentation on “Rethinking Play on Elementary School Grounds”. This informative session explored how school grounds are contributing to the deterioration of children’s health and education and discussed design changes to incorporate more relevant opportunities for play for the modern child. Alice is a Certified Playground Safety Inspector and strongly advocates creating dynamic outdoor environments in schools and parks to promote environmental awareness and physical fitness to enhance children’s health and wellness.
