Working as part of a comprehensive design team, CLH provided landscape architecture and civil engineering services for the new Bronco Pride Residence Hall at Fayetteville State University. The new residence hall is located at the site of Vance Residence Hall, a student housing facility which had fallen into severe disrepair and could no longer safely house students. Site improvements include a large gathering open lawn space framed by Renaissance Hall and McLeod Hall, a main entrance from the open space area, and a service area located along the east end of the site. Other site features include pedestrian access, sidewalks, planting areas, and ADA ramps.
This new residence hall and outdoor plaza is a welcome addition to the campus, providing students with new places to gather and enjoy campus life together. Even the name chosen for this facility reflects the students’ desire to boost campus pride and foster a strong sense of community.
