Part-Time Office Manager

Our firm, located in the vibrant community of Cary, NC, is seeking a highly organized and proactive Part-Time Office Manager to support the daily operations of our growing civil engineering and landscape architecture office. This role is essential to maintaining an efficient, professional, and collaborative office environment for our team of approximately 30 staff.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, people-focused, and comfortable managing a wide range of administrative and operational responsibilities in a fast-paced, design-oriented setting. Required Qualifications:
- 3 to 7+ years of experience in office management or administrative leadership.
- Experience in professional services, engineering, architecture, or design firms preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Highly motivated to successfully interact with clients, regulators, the public and design team members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and office management tools.
- Notary Public Certification preferred.
- Must be able to pass a background check and be legally able to work in the United States of America.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- In-office attendance 9am-4pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. No need for Mondays and Fridays as most CLH staff work remote these two days.
- Oversee day-to-day office operations to ensure efficiency and organization.
- Greet visitors and maintain a professional office environment.
- Serve as the liaison to CLH’s IT Support Consultant and building management.
- Answer and route phone calls and general inquiries.
- Assist the design teams with any project administration needs (Comment response letters, mailings, printing, presentations, etc)
- Coordinate event planning as needed. (Office lunch and learns, socials, volunteer events, etc)
- Coordinate any building management related items such as HVAC repairs, office window cleaning, general office cleaning, fire drills, etc.
- Serve as a liaison to CLH’s plotter support consultant on equipment maintenance and repair.
- Ensure all supplies are stocked in the company.
- Ensure all common spaces within the office are neat and tidy.
- And other similar office management duties assigned by Office Leadership.

Civil Engineer
We are in search of a multi-faceted Civil Engineer with a passion for site design. At CLH, you’ll have hands-on experience in all aspects of site design, from grading and erosion control to storm drainage and utilities. Our clients include high-profile community and educational organizations, providing an opportunity to work on projects that make a real impact throughout North Carolina.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited College/University.
- NC Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
- 5 to 15 years of experience specifically related to site design.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Highly motivated to successfully interact with clients, regulators, the public and design team members.
- Ability and desire to collaborate with in-house Landscape Architects in small multi-disciplinary teams.
- Must be able to pass a background check and be legally able to work in the United States of America.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.

- Perform site design from conceptual through construction document phases utilizing AutoCAD software.
- Perform design calculations (water, sewer and storm drainage hydraulic modeling, SCMs, erosion control, etc.) and prepare report figures and exhibits.
- Perform review of drawings, specifications, calculations and other engineering documents.
- Generate correspondence, attend meetings and serve as a point of contact for clients, review agencies, contractors, the public, and design team members.
- Prepare, submit and track required site and utility permits.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to understand and follow highly complex written and oral instructions.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering and utilities operations as applied to the development, design and construction.
- Knowledge of current codes and regulatory standards governing the state’s building construction industry.
- Ability to read, update and maintain various records and files.
- Ability to access, operate and maintain various software applications.
- Ability to clearly communicate information both verbally and in writing.
- Skill in operating various specialized software and office equipment, e.g., large format plotters, AutoCAD-Civil3D, Hydraflow, Bentley WaterCAD, Microsoft Office/Excel.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented office and establish and maintain effective working relationships with departmental personnel, management, contractors, consultants and the general public.

Civil Designer
CLH is also in search of a talented Civil Designer with a passion for site design. This position requires the following qualifications, responsibilities, and skills:
