Landscape Architect/Project Manager

We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Landscape Architect/Project Manager. You will be given the opportunity to work on public sector projects including K-12 and higher education campuses, various civic/community service facilities and parks. The creative and innovative projects you will be a part of have a direct effect on the community and help shape outdoor spaces all around you!

Our ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of site design experience with the ability to manage multiple site design projects concurrently.  Projects are deadline driven.  The ability to work as part of a team while also having plenty of your own initiative is extremely important. CLH offers a hybrid work environment with work from home options as well as a newly renovated office space.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, or a related field from an accredited College/University.
  • Five to 10 years of experience in the landscape architecture or civil engineering industry.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience or knowledge of SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite software.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly motivated to successfully interact with clients and team members.
  • Knowledge of site design principles.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and be legally able to work in the United States of America.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Must have received the COVID-19 vaccine.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The candidate will perform a variety of design functions related to landscape architecture and civil engineering, including:

  • Perform survey and drafting operations, including redline mark-ups, as related to site design.
  • Research and compile records and field data for the preparation of construction plans; develops and drafts engineering plans and drawings; develop permit applications and generate correspondence.
  • Prepare complex site design drawings for public sector civil engineering and landscape architecture projects.
  • Maintain active communication with contractors, engineers, landscape architects, surveyors, government agencies, and the general public for any engineering, surveying or construction issues.
  • Perform routine AutoCAD and computer software maintenance and troubleshooting; maintain updated working and technical knowledge of all enhancements and procedural changes to software and hardware applications.
  • Perform other related duties as directed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to understand and follow highly complex written and oral instructions.
  • Enhanced knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering and landscape architecture.
  • Knowledge of current codes and regulatory standards governing the state’s building construction industry as they relate to CAD drafting.
  • Skill in maintaining, updating, evaluating, and operating all AutoCAD software and equipment.
  • Ability to read, update, and maintain various records and files.
  • Ability to clearly communicate information both verbally and in writing.
  • Skilled in operating various specialized software and office equipment, e.g., large format plotters, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, management, contractors, consultants, and the general public.

Landscape Architect/Site Designer

We are also seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Landscape Architect/Site Designer to assist with multiple site design projects. The candidate will be given the opportunity to work on a variety of public sector projects including K-12 and higher education campuses, civic/community service facilities and parks.   The candidate will assist in many aspects of design, including site analysis, conceptual design, construction plan development, and specifications where applicable. The creative and innovative projects you will be a part of have a direct effect on the community and help shape outdoor spaces all around you!

The ideal candidate will have 0-5 years of experience with a design background and an ability to produce high-quality graphics for a multiple portfolio of projects.  He/she will be responsible for the site analysis and site design for projects under supervision of a Landscape Architect and/or Civil Engineer.  Projects are deadline driven and the ability to work as part of a team while also having plenty of self-initiative is extremely important. CLH offers a hybrid work environment with work from home options as well as a newly renovated office space.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field from an accredited College/University.
  • Zero to five years of experience in the landscape architecture or civil engineering industry.
  • Experience or knowledge of SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite software.
  • Knowledge of site design principles (i.e., layout, grading, storm drainage, erosion control).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly motivated to successfully interact with clients and team members.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and be legally able to work in the United States of America.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Must have received the COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Maintain active communication with contractors, engineers, landscape architects, surveyors, government agencies, and the general public for any engineering, surveying, or construction issues.
  • Perform other related duties as directed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to understand and follow highly complex written and oral instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering and landscape architecture, specifically as it relates to site design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD software.
  • Excellent digital and hand graphic skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate information both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, management, contractors, consultants, and the general public.

Construction Administrator

Do you enjoy being in the field and watching projects come to life? Then our Construction Administrator is the position for you. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated project experience within the construction industry and have knowledge of site design principles.  The candidate can expect to work on a broad range of public sector projects including K-12 and higher education campuses, various municipal/community service facilities and parks.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum education of high school graduate, GED or technical college graduate. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Administration, or a related field from an accredited college/university preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly motivated to successfully interact with clients and team members.
  • Self-directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong experience in the construction industry with construction management/administration training preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and be legally able to work in the United States of America.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Must have received the COVID-19 vaccine.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review shop drawings and product submittal data.
  • Observe construction and generate written field reports.
  • Generate written punch-list inspections.
  • Review pay applications, RFI’s and change proposals.
  • Generate correspondence to contractors, clients and team members.
  • Maintain active communication with contractors, clients and team members for any construction related issues.
  • Ability to generate plan revisions and bulletin drawings using AutoCAD.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of site design principles and construction practices.
  • Knowledge of current codes and regulatory standards governing the state’s building construction industry.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
  • Ability to read, update and maintain various records and files.
