Vance-Granville Community College identified a gap in the North Carolina regional workforce in the fields of manufacturing and skilled trades. With the design and construction of the new, state-of-the-art Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Applied Technology Building, Granville County will have a training facility to provide programs in electronics, fabrication, HVAC, industrial maintenance, mechatronics, and welding.
CLH has been providing landscape architecture and civil engineering services as part of a comprehensive design team. Grass lined swales will be utilized as a low impact approach for grading and drainage around the building and parking areas. Site design features include a patio area south of the building, program space between the building and parking lot to the west, future expansion shift, dumpster enclosures northwest of the building and loading areas behind the electrical, mechatronics and HVAC labs. When completed, this new facility will support local industry needs, provide career and technical education partnerships with high schools, and help recruit companies to the region.
