In 2008, CLH was hired to develop a master plan for a new 71-acre downtown park for the Town of Knightdale. To re-establish Knightdale’s downtown as a vibrant hub, CLH worked with the Town to create a performing arts and farmer’s market venue which reflects its farms-to-rails history.
As part of our landscape architecture design and civil engineering services, we worked collaboratively with the Town of Knightdale to design a park with a variety of amenities. These included: concessions/ticketing building, picnic shelters, restroom facilities, four multi-purpose fields for soccer and lacrosse and open free play, a playground, and dog park. Measured trails surround and connect the fields. Future amenities include: leisure fishing dock, spray ground, and skate park. Phase II was partially funded by a $400,000 PARTF grant which CLH assisted the Town with obtaining. Phase III was recently completed and includes an amphitheater, stage, veteran’s memorial plaza, and public/private development plan.
CLH continues to work with the Town of Knightdale on the evolution of this park, as different elements of the plan come to life. The park has been a huge success for the community and we are very proud to be a part of it.
